Neville Segree and his family bring some spice to East Utica. Their secret is the authentic Jamaican recipes they brought from their grandmother. The Jerk chicken and curry chicken is amazing! Island Breeze is on Kossuth/Bleecker and also Oneida Corners in Utica.

books for 2006, Rob Igoe of North Country Books takes us on a tour.
This week we head south of Utica about 60 miles to the City of Oneonta. The inviting downtown has red brick sidewalks, old-fashioned street lamps and lots of shopping! We visit historian, Mark Simonson, and president of the Greater Oneonta Historical Society, Robert Brzozowski, who give a peak into Oneonta's rich history.
Kari Crimmins steps in for our host, Richard Enders, who is our Featured Artist this week. See Below.
Oneonta is an Iroquois word that may mean "place between the rocks," or "place of many hills."
There are many great restaurant's and eateries in Downtown Oneonta. We stop in for one of Kari's favorites, Elena's Sweet Indulgence on Main Street.
Huntington Memorial Library
Director, Marie Bruni, tells us the Huntington Memorial Library was Henry Huntington's former home named in honor of his parents. The family became wealthy in the railroad business that was the life-blood of early Oneonta. It is located in downtown and there is a large park on the property.
There are many Galleries and Artisans' shops in Downtown Oneonta, including the Artisan's Guild that represents 50 local artists.
Richard is best known for his role as Scrooge in the annual Players of Utica production.

CANCELED
We were honored to have as our Featured Artist this week, actor and playwright, Richard Enders. It was a bit strange, though,  for him and for us to have him speaking to the interviewer instead of the camera. We were thankful to Kari Crimmins for stepping in for Richard this week, for our trip to Oneonta. Be sure to see Richard in his new play this weekend and wish him a Happy Birthday this Friday, Dec. 15th! Next week we head back to Oneonta to the National Soccer Hall of Fame, Brooks BBQ and the Science Discovery Center at SUNY Oneonta.
