2007 Saturn Aura
Saturn of Mohawk Valley
The fickle weather this week made filming a challenge. Over the last couple years we have been fortunate to have consistently fair weather on filming days.
We were eager to drive up Tassle Hill this week, but decided to wait for nicer weather. Hopefully we'll get some! We received many letters about Tassle Hill and have learned a little bit more about this area from people who know it well.
Next week we'll be wrapping up our tour of the Sauquoit Valley in Chadwicks. We'd like to thank Polly Blunk for her help during our tour this month, she's been a great tour guide.
Remember you can catch a sneak preview of Mohawk Valley Living every Saturday morning during the 9:00am news on WKTV!

Turning Stone
We traveled this week to Sauquoit (both east and west.) In East Sauquoit we visited the old Methodist Church. The church was built in the early 1800s and the organ pipes are original. Church historian, Polly Blunk, told us the
In West Sauquoit we enjoyed lunch at Orchard Hall. Originally built as a home, it has now serves as a restaurant and banquet hall. People may be surprised to find out that there's a bowling alley inside!
Sharon Puleo, owner of Orchard Hall
story of the church's sword that belonged to soldier and local farmer Kirtland Griffin.
The Sauquoit Valley was settled by farmers, whose crops were brought to the shores of the Sauquoit Creek to be processed by the mills that lined its banks. The Paris Historical Society has a new book by Janice Reilly called, The Farms of the Town of Paris, A History: 1907-2007. To reserve your copy, call Polly Blunk at 839-5548

We visited a brand new farmer who came back to the Sauquoit Valley after college to start her own farm. Nancy Grove's Old Path Farm is an organic farm that thrives on the knowledge of those who came before her. She values the help she gets from local farmers who have generously offered
her help.
Nancy named her farm "Old Path" to remind her of the farmers who came before.
