Event Spotlights with Kari
This week we continued our tour of "FIM country" (Frankfort, Ilion, and Mohawk.)We hope to be able to do some outdoor winter sports soon, but mother nature is having some fun with us. This week the temperature went from near 60, down to the 20s with snow, and then back up to near 50 Friday night, and then cold again this weekend!
Thanks for watching and think SNOW! Sharry and Lance Whitney

Our tour of "F.I.M. Country" continues in Franfort this week. F also stands for for "Food, glorious Food!" I guess that can be our theme this week -from our tour of Granny's Kitchen to Thurston's Restaurant to Al-Occasion Cheesecake and even a tour of fine dining for bovine at Brown's Feed.
Barry Thaler, VP of Operations, takes us on a tour of the 174, 000 square feet of Granny's Kitchens
Richard can't resist a fresh donut coming down the conveyor. Granny's Kitchens produces over 1.2 million donuts a day -they'll never miss this one!
If you or a school group would like to tour Granny's Kitchens, call 735-5000
or email: bthaler@grannyskitchens.com
When we visited Frankfort's Marina last week, we couldn't help but notice the tall grain elevators of Brown's Feed. We had to find out what it was about. Here, PhD Dairy Nutritionists formulate feed for area dairy farmers.
Another truck heads out to deliver feed to dairy farmers from Syracuse to Schenectady and north to the Canadian border.
Alicia Gatto, owner of Thurston's Restaurant, tells us the restaurant was built as a hotel on the canal during the 1800s. Today the restaurant is still a popular gathering place for greens, riggies, steak tunnels , pizza, and bowling.
***Today, (Sunday, January 14) Mohawk Valley Living fans receive buy one get one 1/2 price lunch or dinner specials which also includes a free game of bowling!***
Everyone in Franfort told us you haven't had cheesecake until you've had Al's. We stopped in to meet Al and find out if it was true. It was! Believe it or not, you can get it sugar-free, too! 107 East Main, Frankfort (315) 894-6448
