Since 1950, M&M Drycleaners has been located on Rutger Street. Named for owners, Mary and Mike Meola, the 2 boys running around the shop in the early 60s are now run-
ning the business together. Warren and Gary Meola remember those days
fondly and the great teacher they had in their father.
Gary Meola owns M&M Cleaners with his brother, Warren.
Oneida is worth a Road Trip just to see the beautiful architecture of the homes, churches, and businesses. Architecture and art history students visit the city because of its variety of architectural styles.
The beautiful homes that line the historic district of Oneida reflect the prosperity reaped during the late 1800s when the city became a diversified manufacturing center.
Oneida Ltd. is one of the world's largest marketers of stainless steel flatware. The company originated in a utopian community established in the mid-nineteenth century. We will visit the Oneida Community Mansion to learn more next week.
James Joseph, President
of Oneida, Ltd. tells us how
the company has adapted to the changing global economy.
We'll be visiting the Mansion House next week to learn more about this utopian society. There are events at the mansion, including an Easter Egg Hunt and Brunch, Sunday, April 8 at 11:30 a.m. Call for tickets 363-0745. Regularly scheduled guided tours are conducted Wed- Sat, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and Sunday,

Richard finds utopia in chocolate heaven, Meyers Chocolates. For over 20 years the Meyers family has been making chocolate in Camden, NY. They expanded to 205 Genesee St. in Oneida to cater to their customers there.
We enjoyed the best hamburgers and reubens at The Madison House restaurant in the historic district of Oneida at 140 Madison Street. We followed in the footsteps of three presidents, including Abraham Lincoln. Richard looks at one of the many registers that contain the signatures of the former hotel's guests.
Ask the owners to see the historic registers of hotel guests.

Following World War II, Oneida Ltd.'s ad campaign featured the artwork of famous
illustrator, Jon Whitcomb. The popular and successful ads often did not include the product itself and embraced the
theme of "coming home."
One of the illustrations
was featured on a com-
memorative postage stamp.
