The Mohawk River, the West Canada and many other creeks run through St. Johnsville. It is the power of this water that has drawn people to settle here over the centuries. Dozens of mills once lined the banks of these creeks. Wagons fills with processed goods traveled from these mills to the Mohawk River (and then the canal system) that made it possible to transport these goods throughout the region, making St. Johnsville a very prosperous community.

The highway records for 1839 establish the partnership of Leonard and Curran in the operation of the old grist mill. Today this historic mill is the amazing INn by the Mill, a unique, private waterside B&B. From it's secret rooms and underground tunnel used by slave traveling the undergound railroad, to the collection of scientific inventions, memorabilia and ice cream parlor, this place is truly unlike any other!

Featured will be an encampment of the Tryon County Militia and colonial crafts demonstrations. Artisans will demonstrate crafts from the Mohawk Valley customary over 200 years ago.

Fort Klock was initially built in 1750  by Johannes Klock, and in 1973, designated a National Historic Landmark, a site "of exceptional value in commemorating or illustrating the history of the United States."
The Tryon County Militia portray colonial camp life through re-enactment of marching drills & musketry
Flo Hoppe of Rome, NY, travels the world teaching the art of basketry. She has written the book on basketmaking
