Through our travels we have learned that much of what we know about our region is from the stories passed down from mothers to their children. Cultural traditions, customs, recipes, family histories... Oftentimes women are absent from early American history books, but just imagine the hardships and challenges they had to overcome settling in the Mohawk Valley wilderness!
