Ride of the week
2009 Lincoln MKZ
This week we travel through the Kuyahoora Valley. The late Paul Keesler, local author and explorer whom we unfortunately never met, was afraid the beautiful Native American word 'Kuyahoora' might get lost to time. It was the Mohawk's name for the West Canada Creek, which Mr. Keesler proposed should be called the Kuyahoora River. The word, literally translated, means "leaping or falling waters," and, fortunately, it seems people are using the word more and more when referring to region and valley formed by this important river.

Little Falls
The region known as the Kuyahoora Valley was formed over millions of years by the West Canada Creek. This mighty river flows from the Southern Adirondack Mountains, forming the Hinckley Reservoir, cascading down Trenton Falls, and finally emptying into the Mohawk River near Herkimer. The land surrounding this river is rich and fertile and communities sprang up along its banks. We're traveling up the river this week starting in the beautiful rolling hills of Fairfield.
Snow Wind Farm
