We are always surprised at all the businesses we find on our travels. This week we toured Turbine Resources Unlimited in West Winfield. We then headed up Rt 51 to the little community of Millers Mills that is preparing for their upcoming Ice Harvest. It was an amazing feeling being in a community working together to preserve its heritage and the 200-year-old tradition of the ice harvest.
Thanks for traveling with us,
Sharry and Lance

At this little pizza place on Main St. in West Winfield you can get a stromboli that can feed 4 to 7 people for only $15! It is delicious -it must be the dough.
Stromboli is a small island in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the north coast of Sicily containing one of the three active volcanoes in Italy
This small community is big on tradition. Every February they carry on the tradition of an ice harvest. The Millers Mills Annual Ice Harvest invites people to experience the 200-year-old custom. Spectators are invited to help saw the ice and then the blocks are hauled by horses up to the ice house. The Grange House is open for the event with warm homemade soups, chili, and baked goods. There are also displays about the ice harvest tradition.
