Everyone knows McCauley Mountain in Old Forge for downhill skiing. What you might not know is that McCauley has great cross-country ski trails as well. There are a variety of loops and skill levels with groomed trails for skiing in tracks or for skating. The cost is $5 for the use of the trails. It is free in March and April. Forgot your skiis? No problem, just stop by Mountain Man Sports on your way through Old Forge and the pros will hook you up! Only $18 for adults, $14 kids.

Enjoy the Mohawk Valley landscape with us this week. We discover the lesser known trails at McCauley Mountain -where you can cross-country ski through the beautiful Adirondack wilderness. We tour the village of Bridgewater, once surrounded by fields of hops and we meet artist, Mary Chamberlain who captures the beauty and color of landscapes.

He went on to perfect the Babcock test for determining the butterfat content of milk, a great stimulus to the growth of the dairy industry.
