This week we welcome our new Road Trip sponsor, Skinner Auto Group, located in Richfield Springs and in Herkimer. Roger Skinner is dedicated to the local community and a local history buff as well, and we're fortunate he believes in our show. In celebration of our new Road trip sponsor, we visit Richfield Springs. It's hard to believe our last Road Trip to this village was 3 1/2 years ago! There are new things to see and do and the village is looking sharp with newly restored buildings and, of course, the famous clock.

Thanks for traveling with us, Lance and Sharry
TURNBULL
INSURANCE SERVICE
began as a failed run for Utica mayor. As a project for his college students, they projected by how much he would lose the election. He discovered he was pretty good at it and in 1984 Zogby International was founded. He just published a new book, The Way We'll Be.

"All hail Zogby, the maverick predictor who beat us all," proclaimed the Washington Post in November 1996 after Zogby alone called that presidential election with pinpoint accuracy.
John Zogby grew up in East Utica the son of Lebanese Catholic immigrants. His career in polling

Ride of the week
2009 Ford Flex
For nearly a century, Richfield Springs was a resort and spa destination for the rich and prominent city folks who came to drink, inhale and bathe in the famous Ganowauges (stinking water) from the Great White Sulphur Springs. One such famous individual was Theodore Roosevelt who came here in 1883 to recover from an attack of asthma. Other notables include Cyrus Hall McCormick who built Clayton Lodge, a summer retreat on the outskirts of town where he and his family summered.
Where Cemetery Road meets Butternut Road is a place once known as Federal Corners -the area's original settlement. Today, it is the location of Tara Morgan Farm. John J. Donnelly welcomes visitors to the area as guests at his rental house that overlooks the pastures and rolling hills of Richfield Springs.
Butternut Barn
Butternut Barn was opened in June 1977. The shop is located in an old Carriage Barn. The handhewn beams & wooden floors presents the perfect atmosphere for our Country, Folk Art & Primitives Marketplace. This family owned business is celebrating 32 years in business.

The Adirondack Spirit of Giving
Knitters from the Old Forge area, including members of the Pointed Pine Quilters, have knitted hundreds of hats and mittens to keep needy children in the Utica area warm this winter. Old Forge Hardware is the drop-off point and also donates yarn to knitters. Volunteers of the annual Clothe-a-Child project met at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish and matched up hundreds of coats, hats and mittens, preparing them for distribution to needy children in the Utica area.
The Christ Child Society
is a national organization that is devoted to caring for needy children. The organization was founded in 1887 and has over 31 chapters throughout the United States.
Neptune Studio was conceived as a vehicle to create and nurture a fertile environment for the growth of our area's local art community. The facility itself houses a combination of studio settings. This dynamic offers an open door to collaboration and social contact between artists while including private workspace so artists can concentrate on their work uninterrupted.
