Exploring the arts, entertainment
and heritage of our region.

It's hard to believe it's been three years since our last Road Trip to Sylvan Beach. What a beautiful weekend vacation spot to have so close to The Valley, with spectacular sunset walks along the sidewalk that follows the shoreline. There's quite a few new things that have sprung up since our last visit, but the old-fashioned charm that makes Sylvan Beach unique remains. Be sure to get out to the beach this summer, even if only for a beautiful summer evening.
Thanks for traveling with us,
Lance and Sharry

Road Trip to Sylvan Beach
We found lots of new things to do in Sylvan Beach. Two new miniature golf courses, new restaurants, new owners of the Pancake House, a new ride at the Sylvan Beach Amusement Park, and newly painted buildings and landscaping everywhere. It's looking great!

Beans, a kid's favorite veggie!
Wini is inspired by the art of the Aztec and Mayan cultures, and her use of glazes to create a worn look makes you think you've discovered an ancient vessel.

Just like in Italy, the Italians in the Mohawk Valley have their little gardens filled with tomato plants and herbs. Malio's is brimming with basil, so he shares a recipe for delicious pesto, make some with fresh basil and freeze it for a mid-
winter treat!
This wonderfully landscaped miniature golf course is a huge hit with kids, with waterfalls, pirates, crocodiles, and bridges. There's also disc golf for those with the knack.

Wendy and Susannah are the friendly new owners of this long-time local favorite. Serving breakfast and lunch.
We didn't have time to stop in, but peaked in the windows of the beautiful new Porto Bella Trattoria located in the heart of the village. We are very tempted to return. Open for dinner every day. (315) 762-7777
Sylvan Beach Amusement Park
If you have the nerve (and the stomach) try out the brand new Rotor Ride at the Sylvan Beach Amusement Park. It fits right in (barely) next to the Roller Coaster and the kids love it. One the ride gets up to speed, the floor drops and and riders "stick" to the walls.
Located right on the canal, this restored 1900 style building serves lunch & dinner in two dining rooms, The Cafe and Abbys. They have live entertainment Thurs, Fri & Sat nights. Dinner Theater and special events.
