Thank you to all who emailed and called WKTV about the unexpected pre-emption last week. On the bright side, we were able to go back to Deansboro this week to film the "Grass Whisperer," Troy Bishopp. Our original broadcast did not include his interview as we had run into a thunderstorm when filming the week prior, but his contribution to educating local farmers about rotational grazing should have been a part of our Deansboro episode. Now it is. Thanks again for your overwhelming response to last week's pre-emption.

We enjoyed our trip to Yorkville this week and were happy to find some new places since our last visit in 2007. Richard enjoyed trying something new -the wheatgrass juice at Yorkville Organics, and we always enjoy stopping to visit Segean at Karam's Middle East Bakery.
Be sure to check out John Keller's new article (at the top right) about The Songwriter's Circle he hosts at the Tramontane and stop by for the next one July 6th -Sharry

The great weather just never ends! We took our favorite route, Route 20, back to Canajoharie this week. The thruway is more direct, but you can't beat the scenery driving from Route 20 down into the Mohawk Valley to Canajoharie. You can't help but sense the area's deep history, from the original Mohawk people, to the European pioneers, to the freedom seekers looking for refuge and a place to call home. We always enjoy our trips to Canajoharie.
August 19, 2012
So good to be back! The Olympics were exciting, but three weeks is a long time away when there are so many summer Road Trips to take!
It was a great adventure following the Canajoharie Creek this week. What fun taking the most indirect path from Salt Springville to Canajoharie. If we went the quickest route, we would have missed Sprout Brook, Ames, and some beautiful countryside and grand old homes. -Sharry

Our youngest son is back in school and we're busy getting our new magazine ready for its October 1st premeire. Stewart's Shops are the exclusive convenience store for the magazine. We're also working on a fun new show next week and will be giving away free subscriptions so you can have the magazine delivered right to your door.

My favorite part of producing the show? (yes, the food is good, too) It's the fascinating people we meet. This week we met quite a character in Ava -Helmuth and his elderberries! And we met Frank Page, a cartoonist in Rome, who has carved out a livelihood in his hometown doing what he loves and developing a following of fans around the world. That's what I love most about Mohawk Valley Living! -Sharry
August 25
Another gorgeous weekend -such great weather to wrap up the summer.

Thank you for for traveling with us these 400 episodes.
We're happy to announce that we will be publishing a new monthly magazine this fall. We have toyed with the idea the last couple years. Television is a great medium for making people feel a certain way about a place or history or an event, but there is always so much more to the story. We always wish we could include a map, or how to prepare buffalo meat, for example, after touring a ranch, or share that family recipe we enjoyed at a restaurant.
Viewers often tell us of their "MVL Notebooks" and how they wish there was a guide with all the things featured on the program. Although we thought a magazine to compliment the show was a good idea, we knew there wasn't time to create the kind of publication our viewers would expect AND continue producing the show. That was until our oldest son, Vincent, called to tell us he would be happy to return to the area to help us launch the magazine.
So thank you for watching over the years, we have many more shows ahead, and thank you for keeping your MVL Notebooks, we hope you enjoy us keeping track of everything for you from now on. -Sharry
July 7, 2013 So nice to finally have a break in the rain, so nice we decide to take a little side trip from The Valley to The Beach! -Sharry
June 30, 2013 We actually managed to dodge most of the rain during filming this week, but then the area we planned to feature got hit the hardest with a devastating flood. We wish all those impacted a safe and quick recovery.
June 23, 2013 We met our first buffalo on the show this week and another first: visiting the Sacred Grove at the Baron von Steuben Memorial in Steuben.
June 16, 2013 Happy Father's Day, Mohawk Valley Dads!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! What luck -this is the first time, since our show began, that St. Patrick's Day has fallen on a Sunday. We couldn't resist going back through the years to find any "Celtic-themed" segments! -Sharry
March 10, 2013
Hot and Cold. We go from Spring planting and Food Caribe's Caribbean fare to the ice at Utica Curling Club! -Sharry
March 3, 2013
Our first visit to Waterville was way back in 2005, when we first learned about the notorious Loomis Gang and about Waterville's prosperous hops-growing past. We always enjoy our visit to "The Huddle."
February 24, 2013
In search of snow? Head North! Old Forge, known as the "Snowmobile Capital of the East" has had tons of natural snow this year. McCauley Mountain is revelling in it, but even if winter sports aren't your thing, there's plenty of things to do in Old Forge!

November 11, 2012 Veteran's Day
This week we feature the Village of Clinton. We love to feature our own town, but it is always the hardest to do because we have to try to see it objectively. People always seem to take their own community for granted.
Oct 28, 2012
Another week of great finds in Boonville. How wonderful to discover a relatively new business, Central Adirondack Textiles, using materials from Vincent Manufacturing founded in 1892 in Little Falls! These potholders are EXTREME local! :) Sharry
