We always love visiting local farmers. It makes us appreciate where our food comes from and gets us out into the country under the big sky. Take a drive into the countryside south of St. Johnsville someday. Bridge Street will take you over the river and into farm country. Hu-Hill Farm will be opening their new country store soon, so you'll have the perfect excuse to visit the Mohawk Valley "Breadbasket."

In addition to providing traditional library services, the library also is home to a remarkable museum, housing an outstanding collection of fine art, sculpture, and historically important memorabilia from the pre-Revolutionary to the Present time. The exhibits reflect the rich cultural heritage of the Mohawk Valley.
The Margaret Reaney Memorial Library was a gift to the Village of St. Johnsville by local textile manufacturer, Joseph H. Reaney. Built in 1909, it is a gracious tapestry brick and gray granite building.
Take the pretty drive up County Highway 114 a couple miles north of St. Johnsville to the Crystal Grove Diamond Mines
& Campground
. You won't be dissappointed. It is a cute little prospecting site, but the payoff is
big if you're in search of Herkimer Diamonds. We found a few in just a couple minutes of reaching the mine
and that was before we even picked up
our hammer!
