"There is no law north of Remsen!" That's what we've heard, so we're investigating it ourselves in Forestport this week, which takes us to Hotel Doyle (now Scooter's) where it all began.
Even if you've never been to Forestport, it doesn't take long before you feel like it's your home town. We look forward to visiting in the summer, when the lakes, rivers, and canals make for some beautiful canoe trips and great fishing!
Thanks for watching, Sharry & Lance

Men's
Night, an
Italian
Tradition
On our weekly visits to East Utica, we have learned that it is an Italian tradition for men to get together for food and conversation. It happens informally at the local coffee-
shop or more formally at a
scheduled men's night. Malio tells us
of a rabbit dinner he recently enjoyed with friends.

The Conspiracy
By the late 1800s, the railroad had become the preferred choice for transportation, leavinh NY's canal system in disrepair. Money allocated for maintenance led to a conspiracy that involved nearly every family in Foresport!
Jeannie Wolcott tells us how the conspiracy was concocted at Hotel Doyle, now Scooter's. Jeannie spearheaded Old Foresport Days last fall, to celebrate the arrival of the new North Country National Scenic Trail and to capture the history and shenanigan's of Forestport.
Lori Thompson wrote a song about the Forestport conspiracy. She performed it with Stump Hollow at Scooter's. You can order her new CD at www.tallcottonmusic.com
Richard insisted that we try chicken livers. It must be an acquired taste!

The sap is flowing in the North Country. We visit Browns-Riverdale Farm in the Adirondack foothills. Jerry predicts it will be a short season this year, but the trees have been good to him over the years. He takes each day as it comes.
