It's hard to believe it's the middle of April -it feels like Christmas! We were fortunate to have beautiful weather when we filmed our final week in Oneida. We encourage you to take a walking tour of the beautiful historic district sometime this summer. You can park at the Madison County Historical Society at Cottage Lawn and include a tour of the Higinbothum home.

Thank you to all who entered our drawing for a night at the.
at the Oneida Community Mansion. We had nearly 100 entries for overnight accommodations, breakfast and tour of this historic mansion. The winners are Greg & Phyllis Lippitt of Cooperstown
Lawn was also the home
of Oneida's founding
family, the Higinbothams.
The only picture of Sands Higinbotham is on display at Cottage Lawn. Higinbotham is created with founding Oneida. He gave the railroad company right-of-way across his property in the 1800s with the condition that it stop for 10 minutes in Oneida when passing through.
Be sure to ask Exexcutive Director, Sydney Loftus, about the Higinbotham daughters who lived at Cottage Lawn.
HP Hood LLC
With all the local dairy farms populating the hillsides of the Mohawk Valley, we decided to visit HP Hood, a local processing plant in Oneida. Hood was founded in 1846 in Charlestown, Massachusetts. It employs about 200 people at its facilities in Oneida.
Another hair net for Richard and another 16 million mini- creamers produced this week at HP Hood in Oneida.
Operations Manager, Jack Morgan, takes us
on a tour of the processing plant, including a chilly visit to one of the largest refrigerators in New York.
WMCR 106.3 FM
Operations Manager, Joel Meltzer, gave us a tour of the WMCR Radio station, one of the few remaining locally owned independant stations in the county. One of their most popular show is the Trading Post, where people can buy and sell local items.
Lia Marrero and Richard Ianni live in the woods in St. Johnsville. The create art from natural and found objects. They are the featured artists this month at the Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts at Canal Place in Little Falls.
