Feature Artist, Vartan Poghosian
Vartan hails from Armenia and his work is both traditional and inventive. He is teaching adult and student classes at the Kirkland Art Center in Clinton in April & May.
Grigory Sen moved his family to the "free country" of America in the late 1980s. He has just opened up a new grocery store on the corner of Culver and Culver. The store is stocked with foods from all over Eastern Europe.
Nguyen Phat Oriental Store
Richard finds spiral-cut pineapples and huge grapefruits among the variety of exotic fruits and vegetables at Nguyen Phat grocery store on Bleecker Street. A friendly little girl shares a fruit with us.
El Barajo Spanish Restaurant
Hilaria Soto is from the Dominican Republic. Her new restaurant serves traditional Spanish food. Besides the delicious black beans, rice and chicken; Richard enjoyed goat, pig ears and octopus salad. Yummm!
Gary is a member of the Adirondack Mountain Club. The club offers guidance and resources to its members. ADK is a 30,000-member nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection and responsible recreational use of the New York State Forest Preserve, parks, wild lands, and waters.
